The Admin noticeboard is one way through which users can notify Administrators of issues needing administrative attention. While users are welcome to directly contact specific administrators (especially if they are seen to be active), posting here can be an easier and quicker way of ensuring that at least one admin will notice an issue and respond to it promptly. Remember to sign (using four tildes: ~~~~) when posting an issue.

Before posting an issue here, please consider the following:

  • This page is for reporting wiki issues. Please post discussions on the talk page.
  • Post only issues that require administrative action, i.e. blocking vandals, protecting pages, restoring deleted pages etc.
  • Do not post deletion requests here. Deletion requests should be made by adding {{delete|reason for deletion request}} to the top of the target page, which will then automatically mark the page as a candidate for deletion.
  • Do not post issues regarding content disputes. Try making a request for comment instead.
  • Mediation requests between users should only be made once a resolution could not be reached between users.
  • For issues regarding the use of this wiki, please see our help center.

In case of vandalism, posting about it here is low priority. Revert it first, anyone can do so. If the vandal created a new page, tag it for deletion. Assume good faith and consider leaving a message on that user's talk page to explain the reason. Post here only if the user has made several disruptive edits and/or persists despite a warning. Always avoid a revert war with the vandal; it is far better to wait until an admin has a chance to intervene. If a user must be reported here, please use {{user}}, preferably as the topic subject/headline.

Past Issues[]

Not up-to-date information, according to:

  • The Valkyries.

I noticed that some of the values and ranks of the skills of Kiana and Mei did not connect.
There is also no information on SP skills.
In patch 4.6, there will be another Valkyrie rebalance.

  • Dorms.

At least in the fact that the comfort of the Valkyries accelerates the recovery of Onigiri, which are spent on quests.

  • Events.

If there is no way to monitor them, it is better to remove them altogether.

  • Small things everywhere.

  • For Valkyries, with these skill reworks happening, we'll have to adjust how we manage the skills. Something we could do is transition the augment display, that we use for valkyries with augments, and use that for SP skills for the time being. As for the skill reworks, I'm not entirely sure how to handle those as I think they're in the valk's regular skills section. Will probably just have to go through and update each.
  • The dorm page is out of date, has been for a while (before I came onboard). Same with the shop pages. Can also just archive the base pages. These pages are all mostly polishing things up, archiving non-relevant info and adding in missing info.
  • Supplies and Events are the larger stickler for me, I don't have quite enough time to input them all into the wiki between working full time with overtime most weeks and moderating the official Discord. Getting those updated would allow me to update the home page, which will at least make things look better. No reason to get rid of them entirely.
  • As for small things, this is a wiki. Unless the page is protected, you can make changes yourself, that's completely fine and welcomed! If there's anything specific that you can't do, feel free to reach out!

    • Speaking of protected pages. SP skills can be easily added through one more tab of Template:Battlesuit Skill Breakdown for now. It won't look as fancy as in-game but definitely better than nothing. The only problem though is that it is impossible to do without modification of Template:Battlesuit Page which is protected by the previous community admin. --MagisterX (talk) 10:54, 24 March 2021 (UTC)

For the time being, we can just do something easy. The wiki will be getting a redesign soon when we transition over to FandomDesktop, we may be able to come up with a better solution then or shortly after when we get some new tools. I'll look into altering those templates but it's Easter weekend so it may be a bit, if you want to get started you could just use the augment options to add extra skills though that may be confusing for users with the images used (the augment cube specifically) and we don't really want to misinform users. Changing the template does seem like the best option overall, so I'll look into it for sure! Definitely want to have a system for this by 4.7. Lestan (talk) 19:14, 3 April 2021 (UTC)

Made some edits to templates and updated Starlit Astrologos, side effect is the SP tab is appearing on all valks whether they're SP or not (though I did get the icon to only show if they're an SP valk) so I'll have to tinker a bit more later. Lestan (talk) 20:16, 3 April 2021 (UTC)

Thank you for your hard work. I did a few experiments on tabber in my sandbox and looks like if we want to use #if template inside tabber to hide tabs, we need to use {{#tag:tabber| instead of <tabber> and change all |-| tabs separators to {{!}}-{{!}}.
Also i wanted to change that rotating orange circle with cyan one for SP skill icon (even chose different colors for rotating animation) but css page is protected and i can't add new div there myself. MagisterX (talk) 10:32, 4 April 2021 (UTC)

I also want to make that change, it's not even the correct border for augments anymore, so it just needs overhauled. If you know how to make/edit div classes, I can edit the template to fix those, but I have to reteach myself how to do that before fixing it. I messed with setting up #if commands for the tabber but didn't go much further than just slapping it in there lol. It's a harmless bug so I'll try to tackle it properly this weekend. Regarding the event issue; As seen on the main page, I've tried to push all current events onto the wiki, didn't have the motivation to look through each and every supply currently available though. But during a few Tests on User:Vrontis/DPL_Tests I noticed, that the core problem with refreshing events isn't DPL, but the templates that are used. Until one enforces a new page revision (go to the page edit & save without (or with) changes), the events won't be listed in the correct categories. That's probably the biggest problem for events currently. But that's probably either a problem with all the nested templates or with MediaWikis way of handling automatic changes through ifs in templates. Vrontis (talk) 00:16, 10 April 2021 (UTC)

That's an issue most places, the weapons and stigmata have the same issue. It's not so much a problem with how we do things but with how updating the content is handled (as you implied at the end). A trick I've found is to use Show preview before making changes involving templates, forces the changes to display and that usually prevents having to go back in to force a refresh. This isn't possible everywhere unfortunately, such as with stigmata, weapons, events and supplies. Those pages pull from categories to display what is in those categories and need refreshed to rescan the category for new things. Lestan (talk) 00:55, 10 April 2021 (UTC)

Protected page Template:Battlesuit Page is lacking gear recommendations for Abyss and Memorial Arena.
Also i always wanted to ask, can we replace in-game gear recommendations with better ones? For example: Shattered Swords stigma set is far from best solution for Herrscher of Sentience. MagisterX (talk) 14:42, 13 April 2021 (UTC)

Since we are the official wiki, we're using the official recommendations for that. We can look into creating a new page for better recommendations, but it's usually easier for users to ask on the Discord server for better gear recommendations. If I get more requests for better recommendations, I'll consider making a change somewhere. Fortunately, in-game recommendations are getting better as they design gear for specific Valkyries. Lestan (talk) 06:18, 17 April 2021 (UTC)

Something in Evasion Skill Breakthrough of Template:Battlesuit Page is forcing an excessive Evasion Skill to appear on Haxxor Bunny page. MagisterX (talk) 17:27, 24 April 2021 (UTC)

Fixed. Also, closing this as it's getting long. Remember there's a talk page for longer discussion. Lestan (talk) 00:57, 25 April 2021 (UTC)

Requesting a few extensions[]

Hello!

I'm noticing this place could use some sprucing up, and I'd love to do so, but some of my ideas require a few extensions that are readily available upon request. On that note is it possible to have the below list of extensions activated for this wiki? I may ask for more in the future when things are rolling, but for now, this should be good.

  • Loops
  • Tabber
  • DynamicPageList(DPL)

Thanks in advance!

Namwin (talk) 01:48, 20 April 2018 (UTC)

  • Everything's been turned on! Might take a bit to register, but you should be good to go. SandovalCurse (talk) 16:44, 24 April 2018 (UTC)
    • Awesome, thanks! I'm aware of the requirements for claiming a wiki, but I'm unsure what quantity of work needs to be done to be fully eligible. After I've done a good deal more, would it be alright to send in a claim? If you'd like to see what I've been working on, check out Charlemagne. I'd like more or less just to be able to edit CSS, but obviously with administrator tools, I'll have a lot more freedom. Thanks, and hopefully this wiki becomes really useful in the future! Creating disambiguation pages[]

Nowadays the same term can refer to different things, such as Jingwei (the elf? the weapon? the stigma set? or Fu Hua herself?) or Kallen (2 sets of stigmas and her various outfits). Maybe disambiguation pages can be used to help users navigate the wiki. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metal_(disambiguation) for an example. --Waffledfalafel (talk) 21:29, 17 July 2019 (UTC)

  • We do have a few disambiguation pages, but we'll look into making more as things get more confusing! Namwin (talk) 03:53, 18 July 2019 (UTC)
